Torq Thrust II - Torq Thrus D - The Vintage Wheels That Started A Craze
In the early 60's, mag wheel companies focused on modular wheel designs. When wheel designer Tom Griffith conceived the mag wheel American Racing "Torq Thrust" which is considered today, the "most famous wheel" of all time and honored by Hot Rod Magazine,the Torq Thrust wheel that started the custom wheel craze, from racing wheel to street wheel. Known as "Americans", "5-spokes" or "Torque Thrusts", Today authentic "old school" Torq Thrusts are highly collectible and sold around the world. Often imitated, never duplicated, the Torq Thrust is the signature wheel for performance and custom purists. The Torq Thrust design also inspired other wheel companies like Halibrand, E/T Wheel and many others to create their own version of the Torq-Thrust.
